Vatsalya sindhu: Home for destitute boys

Vatsalya Sindhu (Home for Destitute Boys)

Swamy Vivekananda said Service to the poor, the ignorant and the weak and the diseased is the real worship. He also said they alone live who live for others, the rest are more dead than alive.
A couple of calves, and cows, lustre green and peaceful environment add to the liveliness of the children at Vatsalya Sindhu. As the name suggests it is an affection home for destitute boys run by Seva Bharathi and located in Moulali, Hyderabad . The home was started with a humble beginning on 25 th Dec'1989 . It has been a journey with affection, care and sharing of love. The volunteers, the philanthropists, the Children and the needy all make the family of Vatsalya Sindhu.

There are many unfortunate children orphaned or deprived of love in the society and hailing from the downtrodden families. Vatsalya Sindhu selects such children below 8 years of age. Children inherently have a sea of talent it is only the opportunity that we need to provide. With this resolve Vatsalya Sindhu takes care of these children till they are self-reliant.
The children are provided love, care and affection apart from education, food and clothing. Discipline and affection go together in this home. The children study in the Saraswathy Sishu Mandir School and proved their talent in studies as well as extra curricular activities. The children have a fair knowledge of music and Sanskrit; it is nice to listen to the children speaking in Sanskrit as fluently as in Telugu the mother tongue.

Deepak stands as an example to the rest of his fellow students in Vatsalya Sindhu, he has now completed 10+2. He has been an active sportsman reaching All India competitions in 100 mts running and Kabadi. Aravind has a taste for arts; Vatsalya Sindhu has nurtured him for 7 years. After his graduation he has taken up a diploma course in photography. Now married as well he takes care of his brother who has also studied up to 10 th standard in Vatsalya Sindhu.

Since its inception Vatsalya Sindhu has been able to give self-reliance to over 30 boys. Some are actively in public life serving the society in a humble way. The children have an annual summer training camp to sharpen their skills both curricular and co-curricular.
Sevabharathi runs 8 such affection homes with 300 Destitute and needy children in different parts of the state, that includes one for girls alone in saidabad, Hyderabad .
